THE 2011 COMPETITORS
Following
the selection of the competitors for the preliminary stage
of the competition, Jury Chairman, Gordon Fergus-Thompson
issued the following statement:
'The standard
of the forty-seven entries was extremely high. We have come
to expect very high technical accomplishment but we acknowledge
also a significant rise in the intellectual and artistic status
of these young artists'
